A year ago, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life...

My dad is in construction, and my mom is a teacher. I had zero reference points for what a career in tech even looked like. I couldn't even tell you if I wanted business or software. That's where I was at.

I didn't lose sleep over not having a direction. I lost sleep over the fact that everyone around me already did. A calling. A plan. Some idea of where they were going.

So I started booking coffee chats. Three a day, minimum.

Directors, CTOs, founders, engineers. People in fields I'd never even heard of.

Anyone willing to talk.

Think about it. You're getting someone's entire career in 30 minutes. What worked, what didn't, what they wish they knew sooner.

Every conversation helped me cross something off the list. I'd either leave thinking "I want to do that" or "I definitely don't want to do that."

Both are equally valuable.

Two things I heard that live in my head rent-free:

"Any engineer can do business, but no business person can do engineering."

"We're living in a once-in-a-lifetime moment with AI. The work you do in the next three to four years will define your career for the next fifteen to twenty."

DM 10 strangers tonight. Not to network. Not to impress them. Just because you genuinely want to talk.

The ones who changed my life didn't owe me anything. They helped me simply because I asked.

One conversation can change everything.

And my DMs are always open ❤️

*Shoutout Stan*
