Show me your friends, I'll show you your future.
I'm not gonna waste your time telling you to "build in public." You already know that by now. But what I will talk about is something that doesn't get said enough on here:
One of the biggest things LinkedIn has done for me isn't reach or impressions. It's given me lifelong friends who all have that same drive, hustle, and ambition as I do.
We see people doing insane things on our feeds every single day. Raising rounds, building products, landing dream roles. It's never been easier to watch.
But watching isn't enough.
It takes surrounding yourself with these people every day. Going through highs and lows with them. Experiencing things together. That's what actually breaks you past the threshold of "simply watching" from your comfort zone, to actually doing.
I'll be real. I've always been the dumbest in my friend groups.
People who, on paper, have always been ahead of me. Better internships, more money raised, bigger things shipped.
And yet they still hang out with me. They don't just throw me to the side of the curb.
Because when you have that drive, that fire, that passion for building, people can see it. In your body language. Your tone. Even your eyes, they have a special glow to it...
And THAT is what keeps your circle wanting you around. Not your resume. Not your title. The energy you bring.
So find that fire. Find that thing that gets your gears turning. And the right people will follow. They'll want to work with you, build with you, and win with you.
